Yummy Home made buns, in 30 minutes!

The boys and I made these yesterday!  They were soooo easy to make and let me tell you, they were so delicious they lasted a whole whopping 10 minutes.  Sprog put jam on them, Sprout had them with butter and jam and DH and I just had them with butter.

I, originally got this recipe off pinterest.  I love Pinterest!

So...I'll share the recipe!

If you go the to the Original blog, Here:  Your Homebased Mom, she has a printable version of this.

1 C plus 2 Tbsp warm water
1/3 C oil
2 Tbsp yeast
1/4 C sugar
1 tsp salt
1 egg
3 1/2 C bread flour (seems to work better but all purpose flour will also work)
Heat oven to 400 degrees.
In your mixer bowl combine the water, oil, yeast and sugar and allow it to rest for 15 minutes.  Using your dough hook, mix in the salt, egg and flour.  Knead with hook until will incorporated and dough is soft and smooth. (Just a few minutes)
Form dough into 12 balls and then place in a greased 9 x 13 pan and allow to rest for 10 minutes.  Bake for 10 minutes at 400 degrees or until golden brown.
If you want something garlicky for supper, add 1 teaspoon Italian Seasoning, 1 teaspoon Garlic.

I did have photos of the kids making these, but let me tell you!  My kitchen was too messy to post them!  LOL!

Every Child Should have a shovel!

Ok, I know!  Shovels aren't cheap!  At least the good ones.  I purchased two shovels for the kids, to match Daddy's new one!  But in my defence, barring anything happening to them, I'm hoping they'll last a few years.

The best part of the shovels is that they have actually done most of the shovelling of the snow in our driveway!  Something I'll have to bribe them to do when they are older of course.

Sending them outside makes them really tired.  Their little bodies have to use a lot of energy just to keep warm. Let alone the physical stuff they do.

The fresh air is also a bonus.  Unfortunately I find it makes me just as tired as them!

Follow it up with some hot chocolate and a hot bath, pajamas and bed!  Way to spend the night!  LOL

Snow Painting! A Mom's Winter Best Friend!

Well good morning!  I've decided that this is the best winter activity ever!

Why?  Because I've now had to refill these bottles 4 times in the last two weeks.  The second time I refilled them to the very top!  My children think this is the best thing since sliced bread.

They've spent hours outside creating all kinds of masterpieces.
Even Daddy has gotten in on the action.  Unfortunately I wasn't there with my camera.

This activity did cost me five bucks....went to the dollar store and bought five bottles.  The rest I had on hand.

Water and food colouring.

I've decided that food colouring is my best friend.  I can't wait for the day that it dyes something that it shouldn't though!

Here is the activity sheet for it!

February's Ten Activities PDF

Once a month I am going to publish a PDF with ten different ideas to play with your little ones.  You can do them exactly as posted or you can tweak them to fit your family.  I like having ideas at the ready.  That way, if my children are board and I am pulling my hair out, then I can easily distract them.

Most of them, I will do with them, though there are those moments where you just want to be by yourself!

This keeps everyone's frustration level down!

Just to let you know, I wasn't so happy with this format and between now and next month, I have every intention of changing it.

Here you go!

Welcome to Chicken Pants Chicken Dance!

I am the stay at home mother of Sprout, age 6, and Sprog, age 4.  These two little boys keep me very busy!  The oldest one was diagnosed with Aspergers last year and keeps us on a constant roller coaster of ups and downs in keeping him occupied.  Of course the younger one gets to benefit from all this.

There is nothing we like to do more than try new science experiments, travel the world around us, make arts and crafts, sensory explorations, books, and lots of different activities that keep us moving! All of this has to be done cheaply because on one income, there isn't much money!

I will post printables to help you follow us.

This is our story.  Hopefully what we do will give you ideas on what you can do!
I will also provide lots of other blogs that do the Same.

Pinterest is my biggest friend, feel free to follow me along, Type Nesser in the search bar, I should pop up!

So strap on your seatbelts and come along for the ride as we explore the world around us in new and exciting way!
